
The Mexican American Unity Council, Inc. (MAUC)
is a not-for-profit organization established in
1967, dedicated to the ideal of improving
opportunities and promoting economic development
in the low-income Hispanic neighborhoods of San
Antonio. Committed to developing the human and
economic potential of Hispanics, MAUC encourages
pride and participation in the economic
mainstream and continuously attempts to leverage
public and private resources. It aims to achieve
community economic development, create jobs
through assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs,
and expand human resource potential through
mental health support services. MAUC is
committed to economic self-sufficiency, using
its financial, political and social resources
toward community economic development and the
creation of employment to afford Hispanics the
opportunity to experience productive lives.
